Our commitment to compassionate care, paired with scientifically validated treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), sets us apart in our field. We walk alongside you, providing the tools and support you need to achieve meaningful change.
What to expect
Transparency is critical to building trust and ensuring successful outcomes. Our process is designed to make clients feel comfortable, informed, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.

Initial consultation
During this stage, we conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your concerns and identify your challenges. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and outline a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Tailored interventions
Each therapy session involves interventions that are specifically designed to meet your needs. Our evidence-based techniques, such as CBT and EMDR, are applied to address the root causes of your difficulties and promote healing.

Ongoing support & growth
We are here to support your progress and adapt as your needs evolve. Therapy is a partnership; we’ll ensure you have the tools to continue growing long after our sessions conclude.

How can I book an appointment?
Book an appointment with us through our client portal. Alternatively, you can call us on 0433 763 016 or email us for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss whether we are the best service for you.
What do I need to bring for my first appointment?
After booking an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with an intake and consent form. Please complete these forms before your appointment, or you may complete them at the time of your appointment if you have any concerns or questions. If you have a referral letter and mental health care plan (MHCP), please email them to us or bring them to your first appointment. Please also bring your Medicare card.
What services do we not provide?
Here Comes The Sun Psychology Clinic does not provide psychological reports for legal or insurance matters.
Do I need a referral or a mental health care plan (MHCP)?
You are not required to have a referral or a mental health care plan (MHCP) to book an appointment with a psychologist. However, you will need a referral letter and an MCHP to claim a rebate from Medicare.
Under Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, you may be eligible to access up to 10 partially rebated individual treatment sessions per calendar year. You will need a referral from your GP or psychiatrist to access this service. The referral paperwork from a GP is called a Mental Health Care Plan. Psychiatrists do not need to fill out this paperwork but can write a referral letter asking that you be seen under the Medicare Better Access Scheme. The referring doctor will specify how many sessions they would like you to receive before you return to see them for a review.
What is your cancellation policy?
If, for some reason, you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please give the psychologist at least 48 hours’ notice. Otherwise, you may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee. Cancellation fees cannot be claimed under Medicare or private health funds.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes – we offer telehealth appointments (video or phone) where appropriate and effective.
